Assessment drive
An honest read of where you are, whether it is your first time behind the wheel or your third test attempt. You leave with a rough lesson count, not a sales pitch.
Skill by skill
Junctions, roundabouts, dual carriageways, then the four DVSA manoeuvres. One focus per lesson, revisited until it feels natural rather than memorised.
Mock test
A full test run on real test routes, marked the way an examiner marks it. This is where nerves get dealt with, well before test day.
Test day
An hour of warm up beforehand, my car for the test, and someone in the waiting room who actually wants you to pass.
Pay as you go, or pay once
Most learners start with a single lesson, then move onto a block. If you want one fixed cost from here to your test, the Pass Package is the one to look at.

Lesson frequency and length of cover are agreed before you pay, and DVSA test fees are paid separately to the DVSA. Full written terms are sent before any payment is taken.

Before you book
How many lessons will I actually need?
The DVSA figure most people quote is around 45 hours of instruction plus private practice, but the honest answer is that it depends on your starting point and how often you drive between lessons. After the assessment drive I will give you a realistic range rather than a number designed to sound cheap.
Do I need a provisional licence first?
Yes. You need a valid provisional licence before your first lesson, and you must bring it with you. You can apply on the GOV.UK provisional licence page.
What happens on test day?
We meet an hour before for a warm up drive around the test centre routes, then you use my car for the test itself. I sit in the back or wait inside, whichever you prefer.
What if I have to cancel a lesson?
Give me 48 hours notice and there is no charge. Less than that and the lesson is charged, since the slot is hard to fill at short notice.
What is the £25 for two hours?
An introductory double lesson for pupils who have not driven with me before. Bring your provisional licence and pay at the start. One per person, and it cannot be combined with block booking discounts. If you carry on afterwards, the block prices above apply from your next lesson.
Do you do refresher lessons?
Yes. Plenty of pupils already hold a licence but have not driven for a while, or have moved here and want to get confident on local roads. Same hourly rate, and we work to whatever you want out of it.
Do you teach nervous or mature learners?
Often. Quiet roads to start, longer lessons only when you want them, and no commentary while you are trying to concentrate.
